Free AI Visibility Checker: Track Your Brand in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Copilot

Free tool · No sign-up · No scraping

Check whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot and Google AI Overviews mention your brand — and how you compare with competitors. This free AI visibility checker (a free ChatGPT visibility checker, Claude rank tracker, Grok rank tracker, Copilot rank tracker and Gemini visibility tracker in one) scores your brand’s presence in AI answers, shows the sources the AIs cite, and tells you what to fix. No sign-up, nothing is scraped, and your data never leaves your browser except for optional Gemini automatic checks.

How this tool works (30 seconds)

  1. Setup: enter your brand, domain and up to 3 competitors.
  2. Questions: get 5–10 buyer-style questions, or write your own.
  3. Check: paste real answers from each AI assistant (or run Gemini automatically when enabled).
  4. Scorecard: get your AI Visibility Score, share of voice vs competitors, cited sources and tips.

Honest limits: AI answers change between runs, users, locations and dates — treat every result as a snapshot, never a guarantee. The visibility score is our own transparent formula, not an official metric.

Step 1: Your brand

Used to detect citations of your site in AI answers.

Competitors (up to 3, optional)

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you optionally run a Gemini automatic check.

How the AI visibility checker works

The checker turns “does any AI mention us?” into a repeatable 4-step test: set up your brand, generate buyer questions, collect real answers, and get a scored breakdown.

Most AI rank tracking tools either cost a monthly fee or check a single assistant. This one covers six engines — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, plus optional Perplexity — in one flow. For each question you paste the actual answer each assistant gave (or run Gemini automatically when enabled), and the built-in analyser detects brand mentions, list positions, cited sources and sentiment, all in your browser.

The output is a scorecard: an AI Visibility Score out of 100 with the formula shown in full, a per-engine table, share of voice against up to 3 competitors, the domains the AIs cite most, and rule-based tips. Save the project as JSON and re-run it monthly to track LLM visibility tracking progress over time — no account, no database.

How to monitor brand references in ChatGPT

To monitor brand references in ChatGPT, ask the same buyer-style questions in a fresh chat with memory off, paste the answers into this checker, and repeat monthly. There is no official ChatGPT visibility API for the consumer app, and automated querying of it is against the terms — so the honest method is manual: copy the question from the tool, open chatgpt.com in a new chat, paste the answer back.

Why a fresh chat? ChatGPT personalises from memory and conversation history, so a continuing thread can skew which brands get mentioned. For a fair baseline, use a new chat (or temporary chat) every time, and keep the model and your location consistent between runs. Check monthly: ChatGPT’s answers shift as the model and its browsing index change, and a single snapshot can mislead.

When you paste, include the sources ChatGPT shows. The checker records whether your domain is among the cited links — being mentioned without being cited is the most common gap, and the fix is usually quotable, link-worthy facts on your own pages (see the GEO section below).

Gemini visibility tracker: live Google-grounded checks

The Gemini visibility tracker is the only engine here with an automatic mode: using this site’s Gemini API key (free tier), the tool asks Gemini each question directly and parses the grounding citations. Ungrounded runs use the model’s own knowledge and are labelled “Gemini model knowledge, no live search”; grounded runs use Google Search grounding and are labelled “Gemini with live Google Search”. Grounding with Google Search is not available on Gemini’s free tier — it needs billing enabled, and on the paid tier it costs $14 per 1,000 search requests after 5,000 free requests per month (checked October 10, 2026). Without billing, the tool runs Gemini ungrounded and says so honestly.

Grounding matters because it changes what gets cited. A grounded answer must show its sources, and the grounding metadata returns the exact URLs and search queries used — the checker captures both. Those cited URLs are gold: they are the pages Google’s systems already trust for your questions, which makes them your highest-value outreach targets.

Each question runs 3 times by default and the scorecard reports the mention rate across runs. Automatic checks are rate-limited, cached for 24 hours, and fall back to copy-paste if a cap is hit — or skip the key entirely and use the Gemini copy-paste card like the other engines.

Claude rank tracker: checking Claude’s answers

This free Claude rank tracker works by pasting Claude’s real answers: copy each question, ask it in a new claude.ai chat, and paste the answer back for analysis. There is no official API for Claude’s consumer answers, and scraping the app is not allowed — copy-paste is the compliant route.

Claude rank tracking free of charge is therefore fully doable; the cost is a few minutes per question, not a subscription. Note Claude often hedges (“some popular options include…”) — the sentiment detector is keyword-based and labelled as such, so read the highlighted evidence yourself.

Grok rank tracker: checking Grok’s answers

To track Grok, ask each question in a fresh grok.com chat and paste the answer into the Grok rank tracker card. Grok draws on X posts and web content, so its answers swing more with current events — expect noisier results and re-check a little more often if Grok matters to your audience. Grok sometimes cites X posts rather than web pages; those count as citations of x.com, still useful signal about where its claims come from. As with every engine here: no scraping, no unofficial deep links — just the official app in a new tab.

Copilot rank tracker: checking Microsoft Copilot

The Copilot rank tracker covers Microsoft Copilot via the same copy-paste flow: ask in a fresh copilot.microsoft.com chat, paste the answer, and the analyser scores it. Copilot grounds heavily in Bing search results, so its brand mentions correlate strongly with pages that already rank in Bing — if you do Bing SEO, you are partly doing Copilot SEO already.

Watch for Copilot’s habit of answering with a short summary plus linked citations. Those citations feed the “top cited sources” table, which is often the most actionable part of the whole report: the domains Copilot cites for your questions are exactly where a mention or listing would put you inside future answers.

Google AI Overviews tracker

There is no official API for Google AI Overviews, so this tracker uses the manual method: search each question on google.com, expand the AI Overview, copy its text (and the linked sources), and paste it in. AI Overviews are the highest-stakes surface here — they sit above organic results — and they are also the most volatile, varying by query phrasing, location and sign-in state.

Some paid SERP data providers sell AI Overview data via API — providers in this space include SerpApi, DataForSEO, Bright Data, Scrapingdog and Serpent API (per a third-party roundup, checked October 2026); this tool does not integrate any of them, to stay free and dependency-free. If you need overviews at scale, evaluate those providers separately — but for a monthly brand check, the manual method plus this analyser is enough.

How to improve your visibility in AI answers (GEO)

The single highest-leverage move is to become citable: publish clear entity information, quotable facts and comparison content on pages assistants already trust. No tactic guarantees a mention — anyone promising one is selling hype — but the following are grounded in how these systems actually build answers.

  • Clear entity information. Use one consistent brand name everywhere, keep an accurate About page, and use Organization schema. Assistants resolve entities before they recommend them.
  • Quotable facts and stats. Short definition sentences, dated statistics and comparison tables get lifted verbatim into answers — and verbatim lifts earn citations.
  • Comparison and “best of” pages. “Best X” and “X vs Y” questions are the most common buyer queries; pages that directly answer them are the most cited format in our checks.
  • Get cited where the AIs already cite. Run the checker, open “top cited sources”, and pursue listings, reviews or guest contributions on those exact domains.
  • Structured data. Article, FAQ and Product schema help machines parse your facts correctly. It does not guarantee AI mentions, but it removes ambiguity.
  • Freshness. Update statistics and “last updated” dates. Assistants prefer recent sources for time-sensitive questions, and several engines show the date they saw.

Google’s own guidance on AI features in Search (“AI Features and Your Website”, Google Search Central) is the credible baseline here, and it is refreshingly boring: the same SEO fundamentals apply to AI features as to Search overall, with no special technical requirements — a page just needs to be indexed and eligible for a snippet to be eligible as a supporting link in AI Overviews. Google also notes AI Overviews may use “query fan-out” (multiple related searches per question), which rewards thorough coverage of subtopics, and that structured data should match your visible text. And the honest caveat straight from Google: AI Overviews only appear when their systems judge them additive to classic Search, so no tactic guarantees placement.

Free AI rank tracking tools compared

For LLM SEO checkers you have three honest options: manual checks (free, slow), this tool (free, structured), or paid AI search-visibility platforms (expensive, automated).

Approaches to AI rank tracking

Paid platforms automate what this tool does by hand and add trend dashboards; what they cannot do is change what the AIs say about you. Start free, fix the basics with the tips above, and only pay when manual checks genuinely cost more than a subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI visibility checker free?

Yes — completely free, no sign-up. The analyser, scoring, charts and exports all run in your browser. The optional Gemini automatic mode uses a site-side API key with strict rate limits, so it costs you nothing either.

Do you scrape ChatGPT?

No — and neither should any tool. Automated querying of the ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Copilot consumer apps violates their terms. This checker never touches them; you paste answers you obtained yourself, which is also why the results honestly reflect the apps.

Why do results change between runs?

AI answers are non-deterministic and personalised. The same question can produce different brands across runs, users, locations, dates and model versions. That is why the tool runs Gemini questions 3 times, recommends fresh chats, and frames every report as a snapshot.

How is the AI Visibility Score calculated?

Score = 100 × (0.50 × mention rate + 0.20 × position score + 0.15 × citation rate + 0.15 × sentiment score). Mention rate counts most; list position 1 scores 1.0 down to 0 at position 10+; citation rate is the share of answers linking your domain; sentiment is keyword-based. The formula is shown on the scorecard — it is our own metric, not an official one.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. Brand names, questions and pasted answers live only in your browser tab. Saving a project downloads a JSON file to your device; loading it re-uploads it locally. Nothing is sent to our servers except optional Gemini automatic checks (your questions and brand name — for question generation also your category, audience and competitors — never logged beyond aggregate counts).

How often should I check my AI visibility?

Monthly is the sweet spot for most brands. Weekly if you are actively publishing GEO-targeted content or in a fast-moving category; quarterly is fine for stable niches. Save each run’s project JSON to compare trends.

Can I track Perplexity too?

Yes — Perplexity is included as a copy-paste engine. Ask in a fresh perplexity.ai thread, paste the answer and its sources. Perplexity cites heavily, which makes its “top cited sources” data especially useful for outreach.

What are LLM SEO checkers, and is this one?

LLM SEO checkers (also called AI rank tracking tools) measure how often large language models mention, rank or cite your brand. This page is one: a free, manual-input LLM visibility tracking tool. Unlike rank trackers for Google, there is no official API for most AI apps — so honest tools in this category either use copy-paste or a sanctioned API like Gemini’s.
